Battle bar and leisure concept opens in The Beacon

A new leisure concept, Boom: Battle Bar, has opened in The Beacon, Eastbourne, with the creation of 30 new jobs.

The battle bar, on the first floor of the centre, offers the chance to mix with friends and family for great food and drink, while challenging them to fun and crazy games such as Bavarian axe throwing, augmented reality dartscrazier golf and beer pong. Bookings can now be made on boombattlebar.co.uk/Eastbourne

James Roberts, director at The Beacon, said: “We’re really excited to see Boom: Battle Bar now opened in The Beacon. It’s a brand new concept and as Covid restrictions ease and life starts to get back to normal, it’s just what Eastbourne needs.”

Rudra Mishra, who will be running Eastbourne’s Boom: Battle Bar, said: “We can’t wait to welcome local people. The fit-out is looking fantastic and everyone here is really excited to do what we do best and see people enjoying themselves in a safe and secure environment.

“Yes, we have axe throwing, but we have strict rules around participation. We ensure that no customer is allowed to consume alcohol prior to taking part, there is a full safety run down, and a trained member of the team will oversee the activity at all times. There is a caged exterior around the axe lanes to keep everybody safe.”

Other outlets for your competitive socialising include: Electric darts – interactive twist, mini games and extras; crazier golf – crazy golf with a zest of madness, including wild challenges for each hole, and in some cases, you don’t even need a putter; shuffleboards and beer pong. New games will be unveiled throughout the year.

Boom: Battle Bar has already proved a success at its sites in Norwich, Cardiff, Liverpool and Lakeside. The decision to open in Eastbourne is part of a plan to make the concept accessible across the country. A further 20 bars are planned for this year with further expansion plans to nearly 100 venues within the next three years.
