Independent gourmet free range fried chicken (and vegan “chicken”) restaurant The Bok Shop is coming to The Beacon! The hugely popular Brighton brand, based in The Lanes, is opening its second restaurant on the first floor of the £85 million Centre extension. An opening date is due to be announced soon. The restaurant, that has gained a reputation for the fun names of its dishes including Satay Night Fever, The Hot as Cluck and Put the Peelers Out, has a huge following in Brighton and is aiming to be just as popular in Eastbourne. Jamie O’Mara, from The Bok Shop, said: “We are so excited about opening in The Beacon. We thought long and hard about where to open our second restaurant and Eastbourne seemed the perfect place. With the new extension to the Centre, there’s a lot happening in the town and we can’t wait to show off our food to local people.” Andrew Rice, Fund Manager for Legal & General, said: “The Bok Shop a fantastic restaurant which is run by a superb team. We are delighted to be the choice for their second restaurant which we believe will be a great addition to the Centre.” New names that have opened so far in the extended Centre are: H & M, Next, FatFace, Paperchase, New Look, Flying Tiger, Jack Wills, Schuh, Nando’s, JoJo Maman Bébé and Lovisa. Cineworld is due to open in the summer and further signings will be announced in the near future. The 170,000 sq ft extension to The Beacon is being funded by owners Legal & General.
